Lust is a dangerous thing. It can make you believe things that are not real. It can seduce your mind and lead it blindfolded to the cliff that will be its demise.

What would you do if you could leave your life? Wake up one day and be someone else?

I signed the contract. I left Candace Tapers and her slutty, strip club life behind, abandoned every part of that life with one hesitant swipe of my pen.

The agreement was clear:
1. Sex
2. Photo ops
3. No romance

"I need a wife. I am not signing up for romance, or affection, or a full time job. I will not love you. I will have no use for you other than sex and photo ops."

Sex with Nathan was easy. More than easy. Panty-melting, can-never-get-enough HOT. I had begun to think that I could live this new life, showered in luxuries, orgasms, and diamonds.

Then I started tripping over secrets.

Confinement. It doesn’t necessarily require a limited space. Confinement can be a mind fuck of restraint, a person stopped in every direction of action until they stand still in a room, afraid to move. Confinement can do strange things to a person.

The Dumont Diaries was originally released as a four part series. I saw that the first part was free on amazon so I picked it up since I’m a fan of Alessandra’s other books. I started reading it and was instantly hooked. The ending definitely made me want to read the rest. After I finished the first part, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of the entire book from Alessandra, which I was so excited for!

This book started with Candy working as a stripper in a strip club where it is okay to perform additional services for their customers if you know what I’m saying. One day, a rich, handsome man asks for Candy’s services, which she agrees to. She needs the money so it was a no brainer. What came about that encounter was a formal offer from Mr. Dumont to have Candy give up her life and play wife for him in exchange for him taking care of her financially. No brainer right? Pretty much anyway. What happened from there spanned the next three parts and involved lots of twists and turns in true Alessandra fashion.

To me, part one and four were the best. Part one was all a setup for the remaining parts but I loved seeing Candy and Nathan, aka Mr. Dumont, interact in the beginning. Plus his whole proposal thing was just wow. And the fourth part just had so much going on that you just weren’t sure how it was all going to work out. So many new twists and surprises came about towards the end that I just kept saying “there’s not enough time!” I will say I did like how it ended. It did have a little bit of an open ending but still left you with a satisfying ending in my mind. And if the ending given doesn’t satisfy your curiosity, Alessandra does give a link to view the scene that happens after the end. I personally did not read it. Part of me was happy with the ending and I’m not so sure if I’ll like the additional scene so I choose to ignore it. I’m assuming most will read it though.

The second and third parts were good but I definitely felt like they were more filler parts. There were some interesting developments in the third part though, plus you get to see more of the relationship between Candy and Nathan, which was definitely interesting and hot ;).

All in all, this book was a very good story. I always like Alessandra’s ability to mix romance, sex, suspense, and mystery. I really enjoyed her characters in this book as well. Candy was a great character and I loved her actions during the fourth part. Definitely another winner.
