Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
and is a way of sharing the books we’ve added to our bookshelves this week.
It’s been a looooong time since I’ve done a stacking the shelves post and I decided it was time for me to start it up again since I LOVE sharing the books I’ve received or bought,
I also decided to make this the place to share my weekly news, bookish or otherwise!
Here’s what I got this week …
Bought – Kindle eBook
I had the pleasure of beta reading this for Tillie Cole a couple of months ago and I really enjoyed it. It was my first foray in to the world of motorcycle clubs so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It Ain’t Me, Babe is a dark, sexy romance with a fair few nail biting moments. It released on Monday 28th April and you can download it now. If you’d like to take a look at the stops on the blog tour that happened this week you can find the schedule HERE … and read Joanne’s 5 star review (including a chance to win an iPad Mini) HERE.
For Review – Paperback
(with thanks to Simon & Schuster)
I’m reading this at the moment and yikes … Gavin Blake is a bit hot, isn’t he?! Collide will be on tour with UK blogs next week to celebrate its upcoming paperback release over here. Look out for my review on Monday 12th May. Thanks to Kate at The Hot Bed for this review copy 🙂
For Review – eBook
(with thanks to Atria)
I read Nowhere But Here this week and LOVED it! Look out for my eBook release day review tomorrow. Thanks for Valerie at Atria for the eBook review copy 🙂
And now for my other news …
1. Remember that I said my son finally agreed to read Roald Dahl books? Well he’s read two this week! I bought him this boxed set of some of RD’s stories and he loves it! So far he’s read Esio Trot and The Magic Finger. The best part was when he gave me mini recaps of both stories and told me what he thought of them 🙂
2. I had a RARE night out on Friday. I went to an engagement party for a girl I work with. I had my hair curled for the first time EVER and I loved it. I woke up the next morning with hair like a bird’s nest because of all of the hairspray used to keep it in place but I didn’t care! Having my hair curled is my new favourite thing! And the bonus was that I actually felt comfortable with what I was wearing for a change. Usually I fidget and worry all night because I don’t feel confident in what I’m wearing but not on Friday, I felt good 🙂 The only downside was losing the dangling heart charm from my bracelet while I was out 🙁
3. It’s just over 3 weeks now until I fly to New York for BEA and I need to start clothes shopping. I’m stalking the NYC weather reports at the moment to see what I should be taking with me. I’d like to take dresses and flat shoes since they’re easy to pack and don’t take up much room but I’m nervous that there will be a freak snow storm the week I’m there and I’ll freeze to death! Haha!
How has your week gone?
What books did you get?
What books did you love as a kid?
Is anyone else full of self doubt like me when they have a night out?
Do you have any BEA packing tips for me? PLEASE?!
Hook me up with your links and news 🙂
