Once upon a time, childhood enemies grew up and fell in love ...
Smart and sassy lawyer, Lily Adler, has been waging an epic battle with handsome and cocky Assistant District Attorney, Adam Roth since "the glitter incident" in preschool when they were four. Their friends' marriage, a mysterious neighbor, a federal trial, and some bossy big sisters guarantee they'll be spending plenty of time together. When they try to play nicely, will they discover that their reaction to each other is even more volatile? Can they manage to date without anyone sustaining injury? Can they avoid the mobsters trying to kill them without killing each other first? Find out in Legal Briefs.

I have to start by admitting I haven’t read the first two books in this series yet. I knew going into the story that this is the third book, but could be read as a stand-alone. Well after reading this, I’m asking myself why haven’t I read the first two yet?! I din’t feel as though I had missed anything, but it has got me curious about the other characters mentioned, and also wondering whether Lily and Adam are in the first two books too. I do have the other two books, generously supplied by NM Silber, however I didn’t have time to start them before this blitz. I need to move them to the top of my to-read pile though, because I loved this story. It was very easy to get into and a quick read for me. I loved the characters, Lily and Adam. Their constant bickering had me chuckling away to myself, and the chemistry between them was HOT! One minute I’m laughing away, the next minute I’m fanning myself (not a euphemism thank you very much!).
Did I mention that Lily is also a writer in her spare time? No? Well she is, and an erotic writer at that. I loved the scene where she took Adam along with her to a book signing, his interactions with her fans were so funny! Throw in Adam’s very pushy sisters and his Jewish Mama desperate for her only son to marry a nice Jewish girl and you’ve got the recipe for embarassingly funny scenes all round!
I also loved the suspense side of the story too – not only was there the romance between Lily and Adam, there was a case to be solved too, which also turned out to be quite comical when they were trying to figure out who the culprit could be. I can’t really say anymore – if you’re looking for a funny romance, with a touch of spice and suspense, this is your book. NM Silber has a new fan in me.
