Leah Marino hasn’t been on a date in two years. After discovering the man she loved had manipulated and deceived her, she refuses to even entertain the idea of a relationship. Instead, she focuses her attention on taking care of her family, a role she’s assumed since the death of her mother and the one place she knows her kindness won't be taken advantage of again.
When a nostalgic trip back to her childhood home results in a chance encounter with Danny DeLuca, a smart-mouthed mechanic who’s as attractive as he is mysterious, Leah's carefully cultivated walls begin to crumble. She finds herself unexpectedly drawn to Danny, despite his unreliable behavior and mixed signals.
But Danny has a secret...
One that could shake Leah's already precarious foundation and bring her world crashing down around her. Suddenly, she's faced with an incredibly difficult decision--is she willing to risk everything for the chance at finding the love she's always wanted? Or are some obstacles just too big for the heart to overcome?

Priscilla Glenn has earned herself a place on my auto-buy authors list. I LOVED her first book ‘Back To You’, but this book? This one blew me away!
There isn’t one particular thing that I loved about this book, it was the whole thing. The story, the characters, the emotion, the writing style, it all had me engrossed from the beginning. From the moment Leah met Danny in Catherine’s house, I knew this was going to be a good read, but as the story progressed, and I got to know the characters I knew that this was going to be going into my ‘Favourite Books’ folder.
The characters felt real. Leah could be your sister, your friend. She’s been burned by her ex a few years ago, she’s been single since then and she’s happy as she is. She’s caring, sweet, and loyal to her friends and family. When she meets Danny, she’s attracted to him instantly. He stirs up feelings she hasn’t had for two years. Determined not to jump into anything, but not wanting to dismiss Danny altogether, they strike up a friendship, which sometimes leaves Leah feeling confused as Danny blows hot and cold.
Danny is at war with himself. He likes Leah, really likes her, but he’s holding back. He knows that he’s not in a position to get into a relationship but he can’t fight the feelings he has for Leah. He knows he has to tell her what’s going on but he’s afraid of losing her. Danny is a lot like Leah too, he’s charming, funny, sweet, and a perfect gentleman. He’s selfless, and would do anything for his friends and family.
I loved how the storyline developed in this book. Leah and Danny gradually built their relationship, getting to know each other as friends first, hanging out in a group with others. They both want more but Danny needs to be upfront with Leah. When Danny’s secret is revealed, I was completely gobsmacked! It was the last thing I was expecting him to say, I totally did not see that coming!
This story evoked so many emotions in me, and that’s testament to the writing skills of Priscilla Glenn. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I cheered, and I was left speechless. I whole-heartedly recommend this book, 5 amazing stars from me.
