"I’d spent too long in limbo.
It was time to put The California Plan back into effect."
I’ve been in love with Trip Wiley since I was sixteen years old.
Yep. That Trip Wiley.
Academy award-winning actor, known philanthropist, People’s Sexiest Man Alive two years running…
It’s not like I’m some delusional stalker-fan. It just so happens that he was my high school sweetheart back in 1991.
In the years since, he’s simply been The One That Got Away.
We just can’t seem to get on the same page at the same time.
Our timing may have sucked, but the feelings had already been confirmed. Years ago.
At least his were.
He doesn’t know that I had chosen to love him back.
I need to fix that.
And I need to do it now.
Remember When 3 is the third and final book in the Remember Trilogy.
It’s a story about taking chances and following your heart…
and knowing that sometimes, you just have to learn when to let go.
**Intended for ages 18+ due to some questionable language and graphic sex.**
REVIEWED BY JOANNE
*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
I hate spoilers, absolutely hate them. So with that in mind, its going to be hard to do justice to this book in my review, because every tme I write down what I want to say, I am mindful that it may spoil the story for you.
What I will say, is that yet again, Tina Torrest pulled it out of the bag! I have been waiting patiently (well maybe not so patiently!) for the last five months after the devastating cliffhanger ending of RW2. When I woke up and saw the ARC in my email, I may have done a happy dance. I may have also SQEEEEEEE’d in a text to Kelly, for the first time ever!
I started reading that evening and I read right the way through. I couldn’t put it down, and I was on a mission to finish it because there was no way on earth that I would have been able to sleep while knowing the story was there on my kindle. I rattled through this book like a runaway train. I could not stop, even though I kept telling myself to slow down because once I finished reading that was it. The end of the line. Finito. No more Layla and Trip.
I read the prologue again (I had read it when it was released earlier this year) and my heart broke for Trip. Again. He thought Layla didn’t love him, that she’d chosen Devin over him. Obviously WE knew he was wrong, but how long would it be before HE knew the truth?
Well, I’m not going to reveal that, because if you haven’t read the first two chapters that were released during the RW blog tour it would spoil it for you. There have been teasers posted on facebook and this is the conclusion of their story, so I don’t think I would be giving the game away to say that Layla and Trip DO meet up in this story. And let me just say, that it was worth the wait!
Layla and Trip are still the same characters that we know and love from the first two books. After being sacked from her job as a journalist in RW2, Layla took on a new direction in her career, which seems to be working out for her, and Trip is still acting and he is still HOT, HOTTER maybe, if that’s possible…..
The end of their story doesn’t come without its fair share of laughs. There were parts of this book where I couldn’t stop myself from laughing out loud. We get to meet some of the old gang again, Lisa, Pickford, and Rymer. I really think Rymer needs his own book (hint hint). Reading about the game of Pa-TING! they played in the showers at school had me creased up. I could just picture Rymer running backwards and forwards while avoiding objects… I’ll stop there. you need to experience that little gem for yourself. And then there’s also Chapter 5! Tina Torrest you BIG tease!!
This being Remember When, we also have the little nods to the 80’s, subtle nods that may be missed if you haven’t seen the films. Lines from Back to The Future and Airplane had me sniggering away, but my favourite BY FAR was the homage to Jake Ryan and Sixteen Candles. OMG I think I nearly swooned myself off the couch!
By the end of the book I was in tears, again. I was SO not ready to say goodbye to the characters or this series. It’s a brilliantly written story, one that has given me laughs, made me swoon, made me swear and scream, and also made me cry.
Remember When will always have a special place on my bookshelf, and in my heart.
T Torrest! “Yeah, You”…. perfect. just perfect….
