The seriously funny, fabulously flawed Kat Porter has arrived, and she may just steal your heart—not to mention your boyfriend. Readers everywhere will revel in this sharp-witted, well-meaning whirlwind in author Dina Silver’s hilarious new novel, Kat Fight. In her quest for love, Kat makes every wrong turn, juggling two men, one best friend, and her own deeply confused heart’s desires.
Kat Porter is a consummate romantic, eager for her chance to find love and commitment. But after her boyfriend of four years, Marc, begins to grow apathetic and sends her calls straight to voicemail one too many times, Kat finally musters the courage to confront her so-called sweetheart, who seems more interested in dodging her than courting her. Though she’s no fan of ultimatums, Kat is at the end of her considerable wits, and lobs a massive one his way, completely confident that he’ll make the right decision when faced with losing her. He doesn’t.
With radio silence from Marc, Kat’s lifelong dream of finding a husband and forging a family is decidedly on the skids. That’s when her childhood friend Julie steps in, forcing Kat on a blind date to help her move beyond the break-up. Not only does Kat botch the setup, she instead finds herself in hot pursuit of Julie’s love interest, Ryan Sullivan. A man who, in addition to literally taking her breath away, is the living, breathing personification of everything Kat wants in a husband.
Can Kat connect with the man of her dreams without hurting two of the people she cares most about? At the same time, she must also contend with the quips of her beloved catty coworker Adam, her bi-polar boss Brooke, and a string of comic, unpredictable plot twists. All the while, Kat’s cheeky perspective and generous heart will leave readers adoring every moment of her journey while chuckling and cheering for the ever cute, razor-sharp Kat as she fights to land the love of a lifetime.
I LOVED KAT FIGHT but then again I expected to love it anyway!
I first discovered Dina Silver when I read and reviewed One Pink Line in February. I loved One Pink Line and I went in to Kat Fight with high hopes. I wasn’t disappointed.
Kat is tired of being messed around by her boyfriend of 4 years. He’s flaky, forgets their date plans, and just doesn’t seem to care as much lately. So, like the blurb says, she tries to shake him up a bit, only it backfires and she finds herself on her own and on the dating market once again.
I loved Kat. She was just so normal. She had insecurities, she worried about life, and her dreams for her life, passing her by. I didn’t like some of the decisions she made but I could completely understand why she made them even if I was shouting at her to man up! It was just so easy to relate to her in lots of ways.
I loved Adam, Kat’s gay friend and colleague. He gave it to her straight, if you’ll pardon the pun! He didn’t mess about with the advice he gave her and I loved the banter back and forth between them, it had me in stitches, laughing so much. Take this for example …
“Well, I mean that I heard Dave knows you’re crushing on Ryan.”
As if my heart isn’t already beating at a dangerous pace. “How did you hear that?!” I whisper-shout.
“I overheard myself telling him??”

Ahahaha! So funny! Don’t worry though, she gets him back with an equally as hilarious retort! And that’s not all, there are SO MANY laugh out loud moments in this book. Not an easy thing for a writer to accomplish, I don’t think. What’s funny in your head might not be funny on paper. But Dina Silver made it look easy and Kat Fight was a treat to read.
My real favourite in Kat Fight, though, was Ryan! He was the ultimate perfect guy! He could cook, he was kind, caring, thoughtful, considerate, HOT … I could go on …! He was the one I was rooting for all the way through. He understood that the situation was a little awkward and was just so patient.
Kat Fight was just the perfect mix of humour, romance, angst, and drama. It made me want to sit and read until I was done (that didn’t happen, mind you, since 3 boys who want something want it NOW and don’t want to wait for mummy to be done reading ANOTHER book!) and then it made me go and pre-order Finding Bliss which is Dina Silver’s next release.
If you haven’t read any of Dina Silver’s books you’re missing out and you should go sort that situation out right now! I don’t think you’ll be disasppointed.
