Carter, Claire and Gavin have formed the perfect little family. Their friends are getting married and everyone is growing up, maturing and ready to face the future. Or are they?
From bachelorette party hell, porn addictions, dinner roll baseball and botched wedding proposals to finding out everyone’s extended family is chock full of crazy, Carter and Claire begin to question the strength of the ties that bind them. Unfortunately, these ties have nothing to do with fuzzy handcuffs and everything to do with the mounting differences between them.
Will their friends make a mess of things with their inappropriate comments and need to know everything, or will they convince the couple that happily-ever-after sometimes really can start with beer pong?
OK, so I loved Seduction and Snacks soo much, and if it’s possible I loved Futures and Frosting just that little bit more.
This time around Claire and Carter have been living together for 2 months and are getting along just fine. That is until the *marriage* word starts being mentioned. Claire is pretty much against it, while Carter is all for it. The only problem is neither of them discusses it with the other and so lots of mixed messages are flying around. All of this happens in the usual hilarious style we’ve come to expect from Tara Sivec, a genius at writing humour within a book.
Claire doesn’t want to get married. She knows all about the mess her parents have made of marriage, after all they have a total of 5 between them. Or does she actually, really, after-all, want to get married? Hmmm? She’s not sure. Actually, yeah, she might just be sure that she does want to get married. The problem now is that she may have convinced Carter that she in fact has a late night porn addiction, and not a desire to get married!
Carter, being the perfect sweetheart that he is (I want one of him, please, Santa – and I have one I’m willing to trade in!) DOES want to get married to Claire. He still can’t believe that after years of trying, he managed to track her down after that fateful first meeting. She and Gavin are his life now, and he couldn’t wish for more, except for Claire to be his wife. He just has to plan the perfect proposal now that he’s picked out the ring.
So, like I said, this makes for a lot of mixed messages and confusion. A few failed proposal plans. A few changes of heart. A LOT of interference from their well meaning (Liz and Jim) and dumb as f**k friends (Drew and Jenny). Do we get a happy-ever-after for Claire and Carter? I couldn’t possibly say 🙂
What I will say though is this: YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY READ THIS BOOK! If you loved Seduction and Snacks I’m pretty certain you’ll love Futures and Frosting too. It’s full of the same laugh out loud humour that made so many people love Seduction and Snacks. It’s full of Gavin-isms, and that’s always something to look forward to! Claire’s mum makes an appearance a few times and she is HILARIOUS! That woman has no boundaries of what’s appropriate 😮 . Most importantly it has Claire and Carter who without a doubt are one of my favourite book couples. I ♥ them so much!
