October Round-Up and November Reading List

November 7, 2012 Me! 2

OK, so I know I’m a little late with this post since it’s the 7th November already but my boys were on a break from school last week and they kept me super busy as always!

I thought I’d try out a new monthly round-up post and let you know what’s coming up in November. So here goes …

What happened in October:

I signed up for my very first read along! I read Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard which was the book chosen for the read along hosted by Brittany at The Book Addicts Guide. I loved this book! Look out for my review soon.

I also signed up for the Book Twirps’ November read along,. The book is Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter. I haven’t got more than a few pages in to this yet but I’m hoping for great things from it.

I stacked my shelves and Kindle with LOTS of new books in October. Take a look at what I added here and here. I am looking forward to reading Break My Heart 1000 Times and What’s Left of Me in November.

I read:

Awaken by Sarah M. Ross for the AToMR tour – my review

Avenge by Sarah M. Ross for the AToMR tour – my review

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout for the JLA summer blog tour hosted by K-Books – my review

Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard as part of The Book Addict’s Guide read-along – Week 1 || Week 2 || Week 3 || Week 4

Fragile by M. Leighton for the AToMR tour – my review

Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning

Griffin Rising by Darby Karchut for the AToMR tour – my review

Re-read Going Under by Georgia Cates for the AToMR tour – my review

Colonization by Aubrie Dionne for the Inkspell Publishing tour

I actually had a really quiet month for reading in October. There were so many things happening that sidelined my reading. My middle son was 5, the kids were off school, we had a family weekend away, and those are just a few things that happened! I had signed up to quite a few book tours so the reading for those was obviously my priority.

What’s Happening in November:

Well, one thing that already happened a few days ago is the Becca Fitzpatrick signing that I went to. She was lovely and signed all 4 of my hardback copies of the Hush Hush series. See my post about it here and enter to win your own hardback copy of Finale (not signed)

I have the Book Twirps’ Alice in Zombieland read along  to participate in this month. The discussion starts in a few days. I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone thinks of it.

I don’t have any book tour reviews this month. I wanted to give myself a month to clear some of the books on my Kindle that I’ve been dying to read so I decided not to sign up to any for this month. I do have promotional stops for The Wild Ones by M. Leighton and Stalk Me by Jillian Dodd coming up so keep a look out for those.

I signed up for a reading challenge set by Brittany at The Book Addict’s Guide that started this month and runs until the end of December. It’s called Series Catch-Up and it’s all about starting, catching up with, and maybe even finishing some of the series books we have that we’ve been wanting to read but haven’t got around to. I’m hoping to clear a few books off my TBR list with this challenge! I’m one book down and almost done with books 2 and 3! If you’d like to sign up you’ll find all the details here.

To Read in November:

Futures and Frosting by Tara Sivec

Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter

Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick

Breathe by Abbi Glines

Because of Low by Abbi Glines

Derailed by Alyssa Rose Ivy

The Dating Game by Susan Buchanan

Break My Heart 1000 Times by Daniel Waters

What’s Left of Me by Kat Zhang

So there you go, that’s my list of what I’m hoping to read in November. Right now I’m off to carry on reading Hush Hush. Nora’s just about to find out something major! Dun, dun, duh!

You have a good month of reading ahead! I like the sound of Break my Heart 1000 Times. And I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of the Abbi Glines series. Yay for Onyx…can’t wait for Opal next month. Good luck with all your reading goals, Kelly!

I am sooo looking forward to Opal! I have actually finished Onyx already this month and I think Daemon is my new book boy crush 🙂
Have you read the Abbi Glines series? I have had them for a while but I was tied up with book tours and review books so haven’t got to them yet. I’ve head good things of them though.
