Title: Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers #1)
Genre: Contemporary Romance/Humour
Self Published On: 11th June 2012
Claire is a twenty-something, single mom that grudgingly helps her best friend sell sex toys while she attempts to make enough money to start her own business to give her foul-mouthed, but extremely loveable (when he’s asleep) toddler a better life.
When Carter, the one-night-stand from her past that changed her life forever, shows up in her hometown bar without any recollection of her besides her unique chocolate scent, Claire will make it a point that he remembers her this time.
With Carter’s undisguised shock at suddenly finding out he has a four-year-old son and Claire’s panic that her stretch marks and slim to none bedroom experience will send the man of her dreams heading for the hills, the pair will do whatever they can to get their happily ever after.
Warning: contains explicit sex, profanity and enough sarcasm to choke a horse.
OMG! This book is absolutely bloody hilarious! Before I go any further just know this – YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK! There are so many laugh out loud inner thoughts from Claire, and spot on observations, either parenting ones or general life ones. It’s always good to know other people feel/suffer through those sorts of moments too!
I am officially IN LOVE with Carter, what an amazing guy. He gets the most unexpected news in the world and he just throws himself right in there and just gets on with it. I want one and need to know where I can get one NOW! (Yeah, yeah, I know that I already have one (and he too is a great dad) but are trades/swaps acceptable do you think?!)
Claire is a woman we can all aspire to be like. She’s strong in the face of a shitty situation, ambitious despite her situation, and trying to do her best for Gavin. She definitely deserves a break in life, and when Carter comes along, for the second time, things certainly start looking up for her.
Gavin is so damn funny! I would DIE if one of my three boys said any of the things he did but coming from someone else’s (fictional) child made it OK and I was in stitches during Gavin’s scenes.
For all the humour in Seduction and Snacks the main theme was obviously the story of Claire and Carter finding each other again, dealing with the bombshell that was Gavin, and falling in love. Claire and Carter’s love story was just sooooo … lovely, sweet, romantic, and of course funny.
There were sooo many parts I highlighted when reading this that I may just as well have highlighted the whole book. I am kicking myself that I can’t share some of my most favourite parts as I’ve upgraded my Kindle since I read Seduction and Snacks and it hasn’t carried over my highlighted parts when I re-downloaded to my new Kindle 🙁
The second book in this series, called Futures and Frosting, has just been released and I cannot wait to get around to reading it. I have it on my Kindle ready and waiting for some quite time in the next couple of weeks so that I can just switch off, curl up and prepare to love it just as much as Seduction and Snacks.
A definite-no-doubt-about-it 5/5!
