I have some great books to read and review in June and I thought I’d share a few of them with you to see if you fancy reading them too.
The first one is When Forever Died by Mia Darien
Here’s the synopsis, see what you think …
Forever is a long time.
The life of a hunter is a lonely one. Perhaps more for Dakota than others in her line of work. Not only is she better than anyone else at chasing down the things that go bump in the night, but her past chases her with the same tenacity.
She’s built walls around her solitary existence and that’s the way she likes it, but the past never sleeps. When she’s hired to hunt an ex-lover for murder, it’s just the first in a string of memories that will bring Dakota’s past, present and future into a collision course.
And when she agrees to take on a second case and hunt down an Ancient, a vampire over one thousand years old, it unleashes circumstances onto that collision that will shake the foundation of everything she’s built and force her, for the first time in a long while, to look to others.
Can she survive it, like she’s survived these past four centuries? Or will the weight of it all finally crush her?
I really can’t wait to get started on this one, hopefully this weekend. It’s the first book I’ll have read by Mia Darien and I’m expecting great things from it.
The second one is Hills of Sorrow by Danielle Lewis
Here’s the synopsis for this one …
It’s the first day of class, and even from across the room Daisy Forester’s beautiful green eyes and soft-spoken voice have captured forever the heart of Dakota Blackwood. They reluctantly separate for college, but eventually the distance causes them to grow apart, and Daisy becomes involved with another man.
Torn and lonely, Dakota can’t accept the prospect of living without her. He tries to remain a part of her life, no matter how small, but can’t understand why his letters are only greeted with a cold silence—why she has cut him completely out of her life. Meanwhile, Daisy finds herself caught in something she never asked for, and tries desperately to regain a life now spun violently out of her control. Unbeknownst to Dakota, his letters may be her only salvation…
Does this one sound good to you? It does to me!
The final book I want to give an advance mention to before reviewing is Come Back To Me by Melissa Foster
Synopsis for Come Back To Me …
Tess Johnson has it all: her handsome photographer husband Beau, a thriving business, and a newly discovered pregnancy. When Beau accepts an overseas photography assignment, Tess decides to wait to reveal her secret—only she’s never given the chance. Beau’s helicopter crashes in the desert.
Tess struggles with the news of Beau’s death and tries to put her life back together. Alone and dealing with a pregnancy that only reminds her of what she has lost, Tess is adrift in a world of failed plans and fallen expectations. When a new client appears offering more than just a new project, Tess must confront the circumstances of her life head on.
Meanwhile, two Iraqi women who are fleeing honor killings find Beau barely alive in the middle of the desert, his body ravaged by the crash. Suha, a doctor, and Samira, a widow and mother of three young children, nurse him back to health in a makeshift tent. Beau bonds with the women and children, and together, with the help of an underground organization, they continue their dangerous escape.
What happens next is a test of loyalties, strength, and love.
This one sounds A-mazing! I really, really can’t wait to read this one. Melissa is another author who’s work I have never read so along with the previous 2 books I am looking forward discovering her work.
I’d like to thank all 3 authors for gifting me copies of their novels to review. Reviews for all 3 books will be on the blog before the end of the month.
